Bakery software for New Zealand bakers

ibakepro is bakery management software for bakeries that make to order, which covers most of the trade here: home bakers selling from a registered kitchen, decorators quoting per job, market bakers and small commercial shops. Recipe and product costing, orders and quotes, ingredient inventory, deposits and payments, an online storefront, wholesale ordering, deliveries, food safety records and marketing sit in one account, so the chain from what you paid for a sack of flour to what a finished order made stays joined up. A New Zealand business is billed in New Zealand dollars, 29 to 100 a month across three plans, with prices set for the currency rather than converted at a checkout. The three plans are laid out on the pricing page.

Email reaches every customer you have

Customer notifications go by email, which works in every country ibakepro serves. Order confirmations, quote links, the private page a customer opens to choose an option and pay, deposit receipts, balance reminders and delivery updates all travel that way, and email is the channel a New Zealand customer is most likely to still have a copy of when they go looking for the order six weeks later. SMS is available in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada.

On a custom domain, Growth and Business accounts also send from your own branded address, so the confirmation for a wedding cake arrives from your bakery rather than from a generic sender.

New Zealand dollars, GST and your own settings

The subscription is billed in New Zealand dollars, 29 to 100 a month depending on plan, with roughly 20 percent off for paying yearly. Separately from that, your business sets the currency it trades in, which drives what customers see, what invoices say and how analytics report.

GST is one of the tax types available, alongside VAT, sales tax and others. You set the rate yourself and can set different rates by product category where a category needs one, and ibakepro applies the rate you configured to what is quoted, invoiced and reported. Your registration threshold and your filing stay a conversation with your accountant. Timezone, date format and unit system are yours as well: metric throughout means a 5 kg sack reads as 5 kg and a delivery run costs out in kilometres per litre.

Your region is picked at signup

Records live in one of three data regions: Australia, hosted in Sydney, the United States, or Europe, hosted in London and serving UK and EU accounts. You choose which one when you sign up. The regions are genuinely separate, the choice holds for the life of the account, and a second business under the same login sits alongside the first, so it is worth two minutes at the start. What lives inside your region, from records and files through to search and reporting, is set out in where is my data stored.

A December that runs the other way

Your peak and your hottest fortnight arrive together, and almost every piece of Christmas baking advice in circulation was written for the opposite hemisphere. Then the country closes: New Zealand goes quiet from Christmas until well into January, which means you buy the ingredients in November, get paid across December and float January out of what is left. Planning that float in November, publishing a hard order cutoff that sits ahead of your suppliers' own shutdown, and agreeing staff leave in October are the three moves that make the season work. Ganache ratios, the condensation trap and the morning-delivery rule are in running a bakery through a summer Christmas, written for both sides of the Tasman.

What you get

Recipe costing

Every ingredient priced at what you paid, units converted on the way in, and every dependent cost rewritten when a supplier price moves.

Pantry and stock

What you hold of each ingredient and supply, with the portion already committed to orders visible before it leaves the shelf.

Wholesale ordering

A private area where cafes and stockists sign in with an emailed code and see the prices attached to their own account.

Online storefront

A section-built website with a real shop attached, where every price is recalculated before anything is charged.

The customer portal

A private page per order where a customer picks their quote option, answers what you asked and pays their deposit.

Where to start

A 14-day free trial comes with every plan, carrying that plan in full, with a card taken at signup and 25 Choux AI credits included. If you are reading this in spring, the fortnight is best spent loading the pantry and costing what you will be making in December, while there is still time for the answer to change what you charge for it.
